To ensure a retirement that is free from financial concerns, there are certain things that must be done today. The stock market does not travel in a straight line. Those with clear goals and confidence in their chosen strategy aren't fazed by these market movements. Building a secure future by investing in quality dividend growth stocks is neither complicated nor overly burdensome.

Below are several companies that have recently increased their cash dividends to shareholders:

The PNC Financial Services Group, Inc. (PNC) operates as a diversified financial services company in the United States and internationally. April 4th the company increased its quarterly dividend 10% to $0.44 per share. The dividend is payable May 5, 2013 to shareholders of record at the close of business April 16, 2013. The yield based on the new payout is 2.7%.

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Inc. (SKT) operates as a real estate investment trust (REIT). April 4th the company increased its quarterly dividend 7.1% to $0.225 per share. The dividend is payable on May 15, 2013 to holders of record on April 30, 2013. The yield based on the new payout is 2.5%.

Rockwell Automation, Inc. (ROK) provides industrial automation power, control, and information solutions. It operates in two segments, Architecture & Software and Control Products & Solutions. April 3rd the company increased its quarterly dividend 11% to $0.52 per share. The dividend is payable on June 10, 2013 to shareowners of record at the close of business on May 13, 2013. The yield based on the new payout is 2.5%.

Stewart Enterprises, Inc. (STEI) provides funeral and cemetery products and services in the death care industry. April 3rd the company increased its quarterly dividend 12.5% to $0.045 per share. The dividend is payable April 29, 2013 to shareholders of record as of the close of business on April 15, 2013. The yield based on the new payout is 2.0%.

City Holding Company (CHCO) operates as the bank holding company for City National Bank of West Virginia that provides various banking products and services. March 28th the company increased its quarterly dividend 6% to $0.37 per share. The dividend is payable on April 30, 2013 to shareholders of record on April 15, 2013. The yield based on the new payout is 3.7%.

Cisco Systems, Inc. (CSCO) designs, manufactures, and sells Internet protocol (IP) based networking and other products related to the communications and information technology industries worldwide. March 28th the company increased its quarterly dividend 21.4% to $0.17 per share. The dividend is payable April 24, 2013, to all shareholders of record as of the close of business on April 8, 2013. The yield based on the new payout is 3.2%.
