12 Dividend Stocks Building Future Yield

Driven by computers that cost more than the average person will earn in their lifetime the investment markets move at light speed. To keep pace hedge funds, mutual funds, institutional investors and multi-billion dollar money managers spend large sums of money on high-tech tools to give them an edge. So, what chance does a small individual investor have? Not much of a chance if you let the Wall Street players define the rules. However, you might just slay the giant if you define the rules and focus on quality blue chip dividend growth stocks and long-term, buy-and-hold and investing strategy.

Below are several companies building future yield with increased cash dividends for their shareholders:


Holly Energy Partners, L.P., (HEP) is engaged in the business of operating a system of petroleum product and crude pipelines, storage tanks, distribution terminals and loading rack facilities. October 21st the partnership increased its quarterly distribution 1.7% to $0.595 per unit. The distribution is payable November 10, 2016 to unitholders of record on October 31, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 27, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 7.1%.

The Macerich Company (MAC) is a fully integrated self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust, which focuses on the acquisition, leasing, management, development and redevelopment of regional malls throughout the United States. October 21st the company increased its quarterly dividend 4.4% to $0.71 per share. The dividend is payable December 2, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 11, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 8, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 3.8%.

Magellan Midstream Partners, L.P. (MMP) is engaged in the transportation, storage and distribution of refined petroleum products and crude oil. October 20th the partnership increased its quarterly distribution 2.1% to $0.8375 per unit. The distribution is payable November 14, 2016 to unitholders of record on October 31, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 27, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 4.7%.

Huntington Bancshares Incorporated (HBAN) is a diversified regional bank holding company. October 20th the company increased its quarterly dividend 14% to $0.08 per share. The dividend is payable January 2, 2016 to stockholders of record on December 20, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of December16, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 3.2%.

Sonic Corp. (SONC) operates and franchises a chain of drive-in restaurants in the United States. October 20th the company increased its quarterly dividend 27% to $0.14 per share. The dividend is payable November 18, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 9, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 7, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 2.2%.

Accenture plc (ACN) is engaged in providing management consulting, technology and outsourcing services. October 19th the company increased its semi-annual dividend 10% to $1.21 per share. The dividend is payable November 15, 2016 to stockholders of record on October 21, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 19, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 2.1%.

Phillips 66 Partners LP (PSXP) owns, operates, develops and acquires fee-based crude oil, refined petroleum product and natural gas liquids (NGL) pipelines, terminals and other transportation and midstream assets. October 19th the partnership increased its quarterly distribution 5.1% to $0.531 per unit. The distribution is payable November 14, 2016 to unitholders of record on November 2, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 31, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 4.5%.

Shell Midstream Partners, L.P. (SHLX) is a master limited partnership company formed to own, operate, develop and acquire pipelines and other midstream assets. October 19th the partnership increased its quarterly distribution 5.5% to $0.26375 per unit. The distribution is payable November 14, 2016 to unitholders of record on October 31, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 27, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 3.6%.

Visa Inc. (V) is a payments technology company that operate a processing network, VisaNet, which facilitates authorization, clearing and settlement of payment transactions around the world. October 18th the company increased its quarterly dividend 18% to $0.165 per share. The dividend is payable December 6, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 18, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 16, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 0.8%.

Western Gas Partners, LP (WES) is a master limited partnership (MLP) that acquires, owns, develops and operates midstream energy assets. October 18th the partnership increased its quarterly distribution 1.8% to $0.845 per unit. The distribution is payable November 10, 2016 to unitholders of record on October 31, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 27, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 5.8%.

Cintas Corporation (CTAS) is a provider of corporate identity uniforms through rental and sales programs, as well as a provider of related business services, including entrance mats, restroom cleaning services and supplies, carpet and tile cleaning services, first aid and safety services and fire protection products and services. October 18th the company increased its quarterly dividend 27% to $1.33 per share. The dividend is payable December 2, 2016 to stockholders of record on November 4, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of November 2, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 1.2%.

Nordic American Tankers Limited (NAT) is an international tanker company that owns approximately 26 vessels, including approximately two new buildings under construction, of approximately 156,000 deadweight tonnage (dwt) each. October 17th the company increased its quarterly dividend 4% to $0.26 per share. The dividend is payable November 10, 2016 to stockholders of record on October 27, 2016, with an ex-dividend date of October 25, 2016. The yield based on the new payout is 11%.
