14 Dividend Stocks Giving Shareholders A Raise

You expect your employer to give you a salary increase periodically. Why wouldn’t you expect the same from your investments? One of the most important aspects of a dividend stock is its ability to consistency raise dividends over time.

This week several companies made their shareholders happy by giving them a raise in cash dividends:

Dover Corporation (DOV) and its subsidiaries manufacture industrial products and components, as well as provide related services and consumables. August 4th the company increased its quarterly dividend 14.5% to $0.315 per share. The dividend is payable on September 15, 2011 to shareholders of record as of August 31, 2011. Dover noted that this is the 56th consecutive year in which the Company has paid an increased cash dividend, giving it the fourth longest record of consecutive annual dividend increases of all listed companies. The yield based on the new payout is 2.3%.

Carlisle Companies Incorporated (CSL) manufactures construction materials in the United States and internationally. August 4th the company increased its quarterly dividend 6% to $0.18 per share. The dividend is payable on September 1, 2011 to shareholders of record at the close of business on August 17, 2011. This marks the 35th consecutive year of dividend increases for Carlisle shareholders. The yield based on the new payout is 2.0%.

Main Street Capital Corporation (MAIN) is a business development company specializing in equity, equity related, and debt investments in small and lower middle market companies. August 4th the company increased its monthly dividend 8% to $0.135 per share. The dividend is payable 10/14/11 to shareholder of record on 9/21/11. The yield based on the new payout is 9.0%.

Fresh Del Monte Produce Inc. (FDP) produces, transports, sources, markets, and distributes fresh and fresh-cut fruit and vegetables worldwide. August 3rd the company increased its quarterly dividend 100% to $0.05 per share. The dividend is payable on September 9, 2011 to shareholders of record on August 17, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 1.7%.

JMP Group Inc. (JMP) operates as an investment banking, asset management, and corporate credit management company. August 3rd the company increased its quarterly dividend payment 20% to $0.03 per share. The dividend is payable on Friday, September 2, 2011 to common stockholders of record as of Friday, August 19, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 1.7%.

LyondellBasell Industries N.V. (LYB) manufacturers and sells chemicals and polymers, refines crude oil, produces gasoline blending components, and develops and licenses technologies for production of polymers. August 3 the company increased its quarterly dividend 100% to $0.20 per share. The dividend is payable on Sept. 7, 2011 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 17, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 2.2%.

CBOE Holdings, Inc. (CBOE) intends to operate as the holding company for Chicago Board Options Exchange. August 2nd the company increased its quarterly dividend 20% to $0.12 per share. The dividend is payable September 23, 2011 to stockholders of record on September 2, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 2.1%.

Resources Connection, Inc. (RECN) is a multinational professional services firm that helps business leaders execute internal initiatives. August 2nd the company increased its quarterly dividend 25% to $0.05 per share. The dividend is payable on September 22, 2011 to all shareholders of record on August 25, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 1.7%.

Intersections Inc. (INTX) provides subscription based consumer protection services and other consumer products and services primarily in the United States. August 2nd the company increased its quarterly dividend 33% to $0.20 per share will be paid on September 9, 2011 to stockholders of record at the close of business on August 31, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 4.0%.

Aqua America, Inc. (WTR) operates regulated utilities that provide water or wastewater services in the United States. August 2nd the company increased its quarterly dividend 6.5% to $0.165 per share. The dividend is payable December 1, 2011 to all shareholders of record on November 17, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 3.1%.

Home BancShares, Inc. (HOMB) operates as a holding company for the Centennial Bank that provides various commercial and retail banking, and related financial products and services. August 1st the company increased its quarterly dividend 48% to $0.08 per share. The dividend is payable September 7, 2011, to shareholders of record August 17, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 1.4%.

Boardwalk Pipeline Partners, LP (BWP) engages in the interstate transportation and storage of natural gas. August 1 the partnership increased its quarterly distribution to $0.5250 per unit. the distribution is payable on August 18, 2011, to unitholders of record as of August 11, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 7.4%.

Guggenheim Enhanced Equity Strategy Fund (GGE) a closed-end management investment company. August 1st the company increased its quarterly dividend to $0.3125 per share. The dividend is payable August 31, 2011 to shareholders of record as of August 15, 2011, with an ex-dividend date of August 11, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 7.2%.

AmTrust Financial Services, Inc. (AFSI) operates as a multinational specialty property and casualty insurance company. July 29th the company increased its quarterly dividend 12.5% to $0.09 per share. The dividend will be payable on October 17, 2011 to shareholders of record as of October 3, 2011. The yield based on the new payout is 1.5%.
