The Fable of Two Mules
Once there were two heavily-laden mules making a long journey together. One was carrying a load of salt and the other bore a bulky load of sponges. The mule carrying the salt often complained of the weight of his burden, while the mule carrying the sponges complained of the difficulty of balancing such a bulky, albeit light, load. On one particularly hot day, the mule carrying the salt spied a pond in the distance and said to the other mule, "I am going to cool off with a dip in that pond". As the mule swam, the salt began to dissolve and he beckoned the other mule, "Come in, the water is wonderful. I feel as if my load has been lifted!" Hearing of the pond's splendor, the mule carrying the sponges jumped in. The sponges filled with water, the mule sank to the bottom and promptly drowned.
The moral of the story is: Know who you are following, where they are leading you and ultimately you are responsible for your actions.
