April 2013 Pocket Change Portfolio Performance

The Pocket Change Portfolio (PCP) was first introduced on September 13, 2008 as a real money dividend income portfolio funded by the "pocket change" earned from my various online endeavors. Each month I report on the portfolio's progress and dividends earned.

Dividends Received

Total dividends received during the month were $1,022.68, consisting of:

- $48.14 Leggett & Platt, Incorporated (LEG)
- $34.50 Lockheed Martin Corporation (LMT)
- $54.08 Medtronic, Inc. (MDT)
- $11.04 Owens & Minor Inc. (OMI)
- $51.60 Pepsico, Inc. (PEP)
- $99.20 Piedmont Natural Gas Co. Inc. (PNY)

Annualized Dividend Income

Including new purchases and dividend increases, my annual PCP dividend income is now $10,303.08 at the current dividend rates. This is up $373.72 from last month's $9,929.36 amount. The PCP has never experienced a monthly decline in annualized dividend income.


Portfolio Returns

- Year-to-date: 16.0%
- Life-to-date: 19.4% (annualized)

  1. Isn't it amazing how in 5 - 6 short years we were able to start blogs, an invest like crazy in our portfolios, and then started receiving pretty sizeable dividends. Congrats on your new high dividend income in your PCP

  2. Wow ! That is some serious pocket change! You have a lot of the same stocks as me, just a lot more of it. I can't wait to grow my little portfolio to the size of yours.
